1995 TVR Chimaera, 3,592cc. Registration number M678 RVR. VIN number SDLDCC4P8SE011403. Engine number 37A40P2668. Body number P422-4YP9B.

Introduced at the 1992 Motor Show, the Chimaera was intended to be a more practical, user-friendly machine than the formidable Griffith. To this end, it sported a proper boot and a more cosseting interior. Power came from a variety of Rover V8-derived units, though, even the entry-level 4.0 litre was quoted as developing 240bhp/270lbft. The slowest of the range, it was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, 0-100mph in 12.1 seconds and 152mph! Luckily all Chimaeras came with four-wheel disc brakes and a Quaife differential as standard.
RVR was bought from dealers Bauer Millett by Arnold Sharrocks Ltd on the 22nd March 1995 and comes with a photocopy of the purchase order specifying Green Starmist, Magnolia and Biscuit interior, British Racing green carpets with black mohair hood. There is also correspondence about imperfections! The owner appears to have been a perfectionist.
Our vendor bought it in 2003 at about 60,000 miles and he has only covered some 10,000 miles in the last 20 years, it currently stands at 73,707 miles.
The chassis and out riggers are the originals, it has been dry stored for all of our vendors tenure, extra images of the underside are on line.
