L.N.E.R. Railways; Driffield booking office railway station wall clock, single fusee movement, with 12" white painted dial stamped B.R. , numbered 2811, with black Arabic numerals, the mahogany case with side and base doors, chain driven movement with turned pillars, case numbered in pencil to the inside 2811, to the back DRIFFIELD and 2268? crossed out, (Doncaster repair reference), pendulum (suspension broken), with key.
It was originally, before the grouping of 1923, a Great Northern Railway clock but these migrated in LNER and BR times. The circular partial label is for Collectors corner, Euston.
Sold with a 1997 receipt stating it was the Driffield Railway Station clock.
