Alf Hagon, ex British 500cc and 350cc British Grass Track Champion, over many years, starting making his own lightweight and strong frames in the early 1960's, using Jawa, JAP and Westlake engines. The Hagon Sandracer is the most successful track racer machine to date, winning more races and championships than any other bike and suited for both short track and long track.
This example was raced by Keith Swiers as a grass track bike and when he moved to racing on sand in 1979 Alf Hagon modified the speedway springer frame with a long track swinging arm, centre carb, long range fuel tank and auxiliary oil tank. In 1980 he won the British Championship on this bike with five victories, one second place and one DNF. He continued to be competitive until retiring in 1986 when the bike was put into storage.
