Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) for Finmar Ltd., a circular silver birch dining table, with laminate legs, label to the underside, diameter 127 cm, together with a Lazy Susan, label to the underside, diameter 60.5 cm and a matching set of four chairs with laminate legs, remains of the labels to the underside, (recovered over the original padding) (7).
Sold with the original sales brochure and price list, table with Lazy Susan £6 10 shillings, upholstered chairs £3 each and a family photograph of the dining room.
Provenance; the vendors Grandparents purchased the dining room suite for their first home in 1939 at 112 Fairfax Avenue, Hull, from Barkers, Prospect Street, Hull.
