Along with the rival Lambretta, the Piaggio-built Vespa mobilised an entire generation of Italians in the immediately post-war years, the hitherto humble scooter going on to become part of British youth culture in the 1960s as favourite transport of the fashion-conscious 'Mods'. Douglas built the Vespa under licence in the UK between 1951 and 1963, continuing to import the machine from Italy thereafter.
LKJ was bought as a shop display and has been "MODed" with mirrors, chrome and a Union Jack seat. Last running a year ago it will require a light recommissioning before use.
Sold with the V5C, receipt for a new engine in 2009 and various old MOT's.
