The JAP ‘K’ Series was in production from 1918-1931, it was developed on a continuous basis – in 1921 these bore 85.7mm x 85mm stroke engines were the start of the ‘KT’ series. The side valve was a very popular choice throughout the 1920’s, even in competition because of its simplicity and reliability over the more powerful but complicated and noisy overhead valve layout.
