A Gundle Model U tradesman bicycle, with rod brakes.
Gundle 'Trade' or 'Carrier' bicycles were manufactured by Leonard Gundle produced Trade/Butchers/Carrier bikes from Smith Street, Hockley, Birmingham. Originally specialising in the production of motorcycles from the mid 1920's, by the mid 1930's he had moved to bicycles, they continued to be produced until shortly before his death in 1975.
