1989 Honda CBR 600F K, 599 cc. Registration number F541 KRB. Frame number PC192002358. Engine number PC19E2002385.
The first model of the CBR600F was sold from 1987 to 1990 the subsequent models are designated as CBR600F2, F3, F4 and F4i respectively. The original CBR600F along with the CBR750F and CBR1000F was Honda's first inline four-cylinder, fully-faired sport bike. The style was said to be influenced by a brief European trend toward a smooth and completely enclosed fairing such as in the Ducati Paso.
The "Jellymould" was nicknamed so because of its all-encompassing curvacious fairing. It looked odd, but nobody complained after they rode it. With more power and less weight than the other 600s available at the time the CBR - which stands for 'City Bike Racing' - was the first proper 600 supersport machine. A new class was born...
KRB was first registered in March 1989 to Harry Clarke of Woodthorpe, Nottinghamshire at a cost of £4,100. By 2010 it was with Mark Smith of Grimsby and our vendor bought it in January 2011. The twelve MOT's on file go back to 1992 when the mileage was 6,155, it gently rose to 16,024 in 2005, DVLA records go from 2008 at 16,031 until 2018 at 17,355.
KRB is a rare survivor of an iconic machine with very good history and in good original condition and should only need gentle recommissioning to pass the next MOT.
Sold with the V5C, MOT history, original bill of sale and various tax discs.
