1947 Francis Barnett Powerbike, 98cc. Registration number EAY 40 (non transferrable). Frame number MH 9176 H. Engine number XXA 49466.
When the war ended the Powerbike was quickly re-introduced but it now had a girder fork that used rubber bands to provide the springing. In June 1947 Francis Barnett was amalgamated with AMC. Price of the 1948 Powerbike was £55 17s 7d.
EAY was the original RF60 listed the original dealer as Wharton Mustill of Loughborough who sold it to George Cooke of Shepshed, in 1957 it went to Gerald Watson of Leicester. In 2009 John Harding of Ross on Rye, successfully got the registration reallocated and the next owner, Brian Christopher of Leeds restored the bike, including rebuilding the engine.
