By 1985, Bedford had been manufacturing their near-synonymous van for over fifteen years - and the CF2, with a few mechanical upgrades, was intended to go for another fifteen upon introduction. Sadly, by 1987 the company realised it was cheaper to just rebadge other General Motors vehicles, and the writing was on the wall.
That didn't, of course, stop the British public from embracing them. Bedford vans became everything from ice cream vans to horseboxes, and continue to pop up in the world with impressive endurance.
YFV was used by Hartleys of Egremont as a fully functioning van until it was laid up in 2019 and the gearbox removed. it is now ready to be restored.
