John Gowerth, Oxford, an ebonised striking bracket clock, circa 1700, 7-inch square brass dial with a Roman numeral silvered chapter ring, matted dial centre with winding holes, date aperture, floral spandrels, strike/non strike selection above 12 and signed John Gowerth and Oxford below 12, case with a brass carrying handle, side pierced brass panels, with pull repeat cord to the right hand side, bracket feet, four pillar twin fusee movement, hour rack striking on a bell, pull quarter repeat mechanism working, movement backplate elaborately engraved throughout with floral decoration and numbered 467, key, 46cm with handle raised.
