A Victorian presentation silver pair of grape scissors, by George Adams, London 1863, with heart motif border, 4oz, case.
Inscribed "Earl de Grey, (Steamer), Launched by Miss Moss, Oct. 29 1863"
The Earl de Grey and Papon was built by Martin Samuelson & Co., Hull and launched by Miss Moss, an iron screw steamer for the Copenhagen trade, of 724 tons with a 90 h.p. engine. Wrecked in a storm between the rivers Elbe and Eider in November 1866.
