William Boot, Sutton - a Georgian oak 30 hour longcase clock, the signed 11" silvered dial with brass spandrel, Roman numerals, the movement striking on a bell, to a plain oak case, 184 cm, pendulum, one weight.
William Boot is recorded as working in Sutton-in-Ashfield from before 1775 and was the son of the clockmaker John Boot Snr. He worked in the late 18th century in partnership with his brother John.
