Many regard the SX200 to be the finest scooter Innocenti produced, and possibly regarded as the best scooter ever made. The SX range retained most styling features of the TV 175/200 Series III which preceded it. The bodywork however was more angular and streamlined than that of the preceding LI models. Like the TV Series III, the headset housed a keyed ignition/light switch in the space that the standard LI had a simple kill switch. The SX200 had improved performance and gearing over the previous TV200 models.
The SX200 had new side panels with a single larger more pointed 'arrow' flash. It came with a front disc brake and dampers as standard. The engine was more heavily modified for the SX200 over the TV200 reaching 11hp.
RCH was owned by John Cragg in 1983 before our vendor bought it in late 2000 as a restoration project. He entrusted the work to Phil Morley of York. This included a full strip down and all components were dealt with. The frame and panels were powder coated and painted by Beevers Powder and Paint at a cost of £58, the engine was replaced with a GP 200 example from Rayspeed Ltd at a cost of £650, there is a detailed list of what was undertaken with many receipts. The total cost was £3,200.
Since completion the MOT certificates show a rise from 21,639 miles to the current 22,084; it has hardly been used. It was last ridden in 2016 and will need some recommissioning. The restoration has mellowed very well and is a testament to the work undertaken in 2001.
