Russells Ltd., Liverpool, an early 20th century oak cased mantel clock, the silvered dial with chime/silent and fast/slow subsidiary dials, the Winterhalder and Hofmeier, Germany, movement striking on two gongs, raised on four brass feet, pendulum, key, 36cm.
Formed in 1850 the company was part of the Black Forest clockmaker industry, it existed until 1933. It is regarded as one of the finest Victorian clockmakers of the time.
